The Butler University Athletic Hall of Fame was established in 1991.
The purpose is to recognize and honor those individuals who have made exceptional contributions to the achievements and prestige of Butler University in the field of athletics and who have continued to demonstrate in their lives the values imparted by athletics.
In pursuit of the goal of inducting the most worthy men and women athletes, the Selection Committee will strive to consider athletes in all eligible generations and all sports avoiding, as much as possible, domination by any one sport.

The Selection Committee meets once a year to determine that applicable year’s Hall of Fame class.
